Ferrosilicomanganese – is a brittle alloy of iron, silicon and manganese, which is used in metallurgy as a steel desoxidant and for the alloying thereof. It gives the iron alloys durability, wearing capacity and impact value. Ferrosilicomanganese as goods grades differ from each other according to the phosphor content and granulometry thereof.

Granulometry:
Fractions: 0–5 mm, 10–50 mm, 10–80 mm, 10–100 mm, 0–300 mm.
Ferrosilicomanganese granulometry structure must correspond to the grain size category from the table below:
By the delivery of Ferrosilicomanganese of a 6-grain size category, small particles content of 0 to 5 mm should not exceed 10%.
Grain size category | Ferrosilicomanganese lumps, mm | Total mass of lumps, dimensions in a batch, % | Average maximal oversized fraction dimension in three dimensions, mm
No more than | ||||
Oversize fraction | Feel
1 | 20 tо 200 inc. | 10 | 10 | 300 |
2 | 20 tо 100 inc. | 10 | 10 | 200 |

Grade and chemical content of ferrosilicomanganese should correspond to the following table:
Base of an alloy grade | Element mass total, %
Si | Mn No less than | С | Р | S | ||
А | Б | |||||
No more than | ||||||
SiMn 17 | Higher than 15.0 to 20.0 inc. | 65,0 | 2,5 | 0,10 | 0,60 | 0,03 |
Note: Letters and figures of the base of an alloy grade of ferrosilicomanganese mean: Mn - manganese, Si - silicon; figures following the letters show an average silicon total mass in wholes. |
